Guide to the unexplored

Since the beginning of time, people have been explorers, discovering new land, horizons, cultures, music and food. It simply lies in our nature to break free from the ordinary, to experience and see the unknown.

Scandinavian countries have very diverse natural habitats, mountains, forests, lakes and islands, making it possible for us to experience the great outdoors at any time. Still, large parts of the landscape and magnificent views go unexplored and unseen. Somehow we seem to have lost track of what comes naturally to us all – discovering new paths.

Talisker whisky was born in rugged nature, at a remote windblown distillery on Isle of Skye in Scotland. Staying true to our nature, we now want to cherish the untapped treasures of the Scandinavian landscape together with you. To encourage new discoveries, Talisker launches Scandinavian Detours - a new guide that will give you the ideas and inspiration you need to make it happen.

Let us guide you to the scenic routes and unexplored places of Scandinavia.

Adventurers

We wanted to ensure that this guide will take you to the unique spots and absolute ‘must sees’ in Sweden, Denmark and Norway, so we teamed up with some of the foremost adventurers in Scandinavia, who each have identified their favorite spots.

Our adventurers take us on a personal journey to the different locations in their home countries. Check out the natural gems, which they have shared for the ultimate adventure in Scandinavia!

Pop-up restaurants

This summer, Talisker will partner with Swedish chefs Joel Åhlin and Filip Fastén from Agrikultur. Together we will create a unique culinary experience in the middle of nature in both Sweden and Denmark. But only for one day, so make sure to book your seat at the table in time for this once in a lifetime experience!

MADE BY THE SEA

In 1825, Hugh MacAskill of Eigg acquired Talisker House and the north end of the Minginish peninsula on the rugged, beautiful Isle of Skye. Five years later, he and his brother had built what was to become one of the world’s most popular distilleries on the shore of Loch Harport. Talisker is a Single Malt Whisky made on the shores of Isle of Skye, one of the most remote, rugged, yet beautiful landscapes in Scotland. Few whiskies tell the story of their origins better than those crafted at this distillery. Talisker’s smell and taste instantly connect you with the wild and stormy Isle.
